Valuable Information
Violence against women is a global problem. In America, someone is assaulted every 90 seconds. Out of fear or shame only half of the domestic violence incidents are reported to the Police. Shocking and deplorable yet these are reports from DOJ from 2000 and 2001. Isn't it time for women to empower
themselves? Isn't it time for women to take action to eradicate violence against women? Please write these numbers down. If you or a friend are a victim of a violent crime call for help.

Overcome the Online Dilemma
Do you apply for dozens of jobs online and never receive a response? If so, you’re not alone. It’s the chief complaint we hear among jobseekers. Here are some wise tips to overcome the online trap:
Don’t rely on a generic resume. Instead of always submitting the same one-size-fits-all resume for every opening, take a few minutes to target your resume to the postings you’re applying to. Don’t include an objective that focuses exclusively on IT if the job involves PR. Tweak your resume and plug in appropriate keywords from the job posting that match your own skills and experience. For example, a posting might seek for someone with solid “verbal communication skills,” but your resume says you have exceptional “oral” communication skills. Normally you might not think to make a change in word usage, yet doing say could increase your chances of appearing as a more relevant match.
Be selective. With so many great positions listed online, it’s tempting to apply for all of them. Many company websites are designed to flag resumes that have been submitted for more than two or three similar openings. Applying to a dozen different jobs within the same company signals that you don’t really know what you’re looking for, aren’t interested in any specific position, and are willing to take whatever you can get. Not good.
Refresh your resume often. Since most big online job boards will pull up the most recent resumes first for an employer who’s searching, it’s smart to update yours every few days – even if it’s as simple as changing a word or two. Doing so means your resume is more likely to be viewed. Follow-up with a real person. When you come across a posting that has your name written all over it, go the extra mile to find the appropriate hiring manager or recruiter responsible for filling the job. Let them know that you’ve applied online, but that you’d like to take it a step further by expressing your tremendous interest to them directly. Reiterate your qualifications and politely ask for next steps.
